United with Love located at 715 Byron St offers free pet food as part of their Food Pantry services.

The Humane Fort Wayne Free Pet Food Pantry comes to Roanoke every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month.

According to the Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act (FHAA), it is illegal to discriminate against someone with a recognized impairment. This law is relevant to emotional support animals because it means that housing rights must be given to those with emotional support animals.

If you are moving into a facility with animal restrictions, it may be of benefit to get your pet registered as an Emotional Support Animal.

Note: there is a one time cost to registering your pet.

We have a limited budget each year to assist with pet deposits for rental properties within Huntington County. If you are considering surrendering your pet due to the need for a pet deposit, please reach out to us via email at KHudson@huntingtonhumane.org

Vaccinations and additional services:

Our shelter offers the following vaccines for just $10/vaccine:

DAPPVL (5-in-1) vaccine for dogs,

Bordetella vaccine for dogs,

FVRCP vaccination for cats

We also offer deworming, microchips, and nail trims for just $10 as well.

You can get any of these services completed for any of your animals any time during regular business hours; No appointment needed.

Spay/Neuter Assistance

If you live inside Huntington County and have a cat who needs altered, please check out our “Prevent-a-Litter Program” page on our website. We have several opportunities for you to get your cat spayed/neutered + rabies vaccination for just $30.

If you live outside of Huntington County, we recommend our partners at Furry Fix who offer vouchers on a first come-first serve basis on the 1st of every month for just $25-$45. Follow them on Facebook for details www.facebook.com/furryfix

Humane Fort Wayne offers a temporary foster program for those experiencing urgent and critical situations.

Humane Fort Wayne will take in qualified pets for up to 60 days without fear of losing your pet.

To qualify, you must have one of the situations below:

Have lost your home due to no fault of your own.

Need medical attention and have no other family to help.

Be currently going through a domestic battery situation.
